Gege Akutami’s “Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition” in Osaka opens this April

Overview
The first large-scale exhibition of original artwork from the popular manga series “Jujutsu Kaisen” by Gege Akutami heads to Grand Front Osaka from April 19th to June 9th 2025.
The exhibition will feature a variety of exhibits, including early drafts, character sketches, and background art created by the artist’s talented assistants.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to take photos in specially designed photo spots inspired by the series.
Exclusive merchandise will be available for purchase at the exhibition and all visitors will be gifted an exclusive sticker set.
The exhibition will be split into 4 areas, each covering part of the process of creating the manga:
Area No. 1 Prototype & Name
The storyboards and drafts leading up to the final manuscript will be on display.
Names (a rough draft panel layout) from the initial prototype storyboard work for “Jujutsu Kaisen”, created after the publication of the prequel series “Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical College” will be the main attraction of this area.
Area 2 Digital Drawing Method
From conception to drawing and collaboration with assistants, the meticulous creative process of “Jujutsu Kaisen” using digital drawing will be explained.
Area No. 3 Serial manuscript full commentary
The third area will walk visitors through some of the story of Jujutsu Kaisen, with information regarding character creation, settings and storylines through the use of drafts, sketches and other production materials.
Comments from Gege Akutami will be present throughout this area, offering a level of insight not previously available to fans.
A photo spot, allowing visitors to take photos against a background drawn by skilled art assistances will also be present in this area:
Area 4 color illustration
The final area offers a glimpse into the production process of key visuals and cover art for “Weekly Shonen Jump”, which requires detailed color images to be created.
Audio Guide
An audio guide (Japanese language only) can be purchased for 800 yen (tax included) at the exhibition.
The audio guide will feature voice actors from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series. Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori) and Junichi Suwabe (Ryomen Sukuna) will guide visitors around the exhibition.

Opening Times: 10:00 to 20:00 (last entry 30 minutes before closing, exhibition will close 17:00 on 15th May as some exhibits will change on this date)
